Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Son Loc Cao, an independent game developer in Vietnam publishing as Sherlock Cao ("we", "us"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use the CubeShot mobile app ("the App").
Information we collect
CubeShot does not directly collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email, or location. The App has no accounts and no sign-in.
The App stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Your best score, best wave and best BLAST
- Your top 10 runs (score, wave, the date and time each run ended, and whether a rewarded ad was used in it), your Daily Seed results and your personal records (such as the number of days played), shown on the RANKS screen
- Your progress (runs played and features you have unlocked) and which tips you have already seen
- Sound, music, vibration and look (visual style) settings, and the position of the SEND MY SCORES switch
We do not run any server and do not receive this data. The App has no online leaderboard and does not send your scores to any ranking or game server. Some gameplay numbers, such as the score and wave reached in a run, are included in the usage events sent to Firebase Analytics (see "Third-party services"); these events do not include your name or any account. If online leaderboards are added in a future version, this policy will be updated before they go live, and the SEND MY SCORES switch on the RANKS screen will let you stop sending your scores to the leaderboards.
Third-party services
The App integrates Google AdMob to serve advertisements (a banner and optional rewarded ads that you choose to watch), and Google Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate usage. These services may collect:
- Device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID, or resettable app-scoped identifiers on iOS)
- IP address, which Google uses to estimate your approximate location (country or region level)
- App usage events (such as runs played, scores reached, or which ads were viewed)
- Device information (model, OS version)
- Diagnostic information (such as app and ad performance)
This data is used to serve and measure ads, to prevent fraud, and to understand how the App is used. Google may share data with its advertising partners as described in its policies. Google's privacy practices are described at policies.google.com/privacy, and how Google uses data from apps that use its services is described at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Consent. Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), the App asks for your consent with Google's consent form before ads are personalized. You can review or change your choice at any time from Settings → PRIVACY in the App.
On iOS, the App does not ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites, so the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) is not available to the App or to Google (iOS returns only zeros). Ads are served without cross-app tracking.
On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID under Settings → Privacy → Ads (on some devices Settings → Google → Ads). Menu names vary by device and Android version.
Data retention and deletion
Data the App stores on your device stays there until you clear the App's data or uninstall the App, which deletes it. We keep no copy on any server. Google keeps the data it collects through AdMob and Firebase Analytics under its own retention rules; Firebase Analytics event data for the App is kept for no longer than 14 months. We cannot identify you from this data, so we cannot look it up by your name or email. To stop new data being linked to your device, reset or delete your advertising ID (see above) or uninstall the App. For any privacy request, email support@sherlockcao.com and we will reply within 30 days.
Security
The App sends no data to our own servers. Data collected by Google's SDKs is sent to Google over encrypted connections (TLS).
Children's privacy
The App is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App, contact us and we will help you remove the App's data.
